June through September - The Whalehead Club Wine Festivals
Every Wednesday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the months of June through September, starting on June 25, 2008. Come and celebrate the interesting world of wines! All wine connoisseurs and novices are welcome! Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting and entertainment under the tents on the north lawn of Currituck Heritage Park. With your $20 admission adults can sample wines from North Carolina and the world; keep your souvenir glass; take a complimentary tour of the Whalehead Club; listen to popular local musical artists perform on the stage; sample food from local vendors. Children and leashed pets are welcome. Parking is free.
- June 25 - Ruth Wyand, local award winning guitarist, songwriter and singer with a strong blues influence and who’s style harkens back to the early grassroots of Americana
- July 2 – Dr Tom, a local chiropractor also known for his acoustic rhythm and blues talent dating back to the hey-day of the late 70’s and 80’s,
- July 9 – "P & J": mother and daughter duo, Patrice and Jacqui Kaluza, perform a variety of music styles on keyboard, percussion and vocals including jazz standards, pop, folk, ballad and rock & roll
- July 16 – Mojo Collins, local jazz, blues & classic rock artist much loved and appreciated by blues lovers, casual listeners, and children
- July 23- Kim Kalman, with her hearty melodies, crisp vocals and understated guitar licks which have made her one of the area's most popular solo acts
- July 30 – Mike Sadler Band, local trio of 13 years playing a wide variety of rock and traditional music with a few clever originals
- Aug 6 – Kim Kalman, with her hearty melodies, crisp vocals and understated guitar licks which have made her one of the area's most popular solo acts
- Aug 13 - Watson & Calhoun, showcasing their folk rock & folk alternative original music with guitar, hand percussion and harmonic duet vocals

July & August - Summer Concert Series on the Lawn
Every Thursday - 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Relax on the south lawn at Currituck Heritage Park and enjoy the musical talents of students from the NC School of the Arts and local musicians. On the historic Whalehead Club front porch, a variety of music from past to present to please all ages will be performed; including jazz, blues, folk, and classic rock. Bring a beach chair or blanket and watch the sun set over the Currituck Sound while supporting the musical arts! Snack concessions will be available. Leashed pets are welcome. Sponsored by the local business community. Admission and parking are free.

July 4th - The 16th Annual Independence Day Festival of Fireworks
Friday - 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Food, fun, and entertainment for the entire family at Currituck Heritage Park. Fireworks will begin at dusk overlooking the Currituck Sound. Bring blankets or beach chairs and enjoy the best fireworks display on the Outer Banks! Sponsored by Currituck County. Admission is free.

October 24 & 25 - The 5th Annual Haunted Corolla Village
Friday / Saturday - 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Currituck Heritage Park will be haunted for two days. Come and join us for a ghoulishly good time! If you dare to explore the spooky park grounds, you may unravel the clues and discover the hidden treasure that was mysteriously buried many years ago. For the more faint-at-heart a Haunted Hayride through Historical Corolla Village awaits: Take a slow trot on the hay cart through the village listening to ghostly stories of yester-year. Meet at the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education to buy your tickets: $6.00 per person - one ticket covers both the hayride and the treasure hunt. Grab an eerie treat at the Bake Sale. December 13 - Currituck Heritage Park 2nd Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
Saturday - 5 p.m. See the giant cedar tree in Currituck Heritage Park and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse simultaneously illuminated. Gather on the north lawn to enjoy free hot chocolate and sing carols with the Currituck County High School Choral Ensemble. Following the lighting ceremony, the Whalehead Club will offer complimentary docent-led holiday tours to show off the decorations inspired by the 1920's etchings of Edward Collings Knight, Jr. Alternatively, take a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride snuggled under a fluffy blanket through Historic Corolla Village.

December 13 - Holiday Piano Concert
Saturday - 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Festivities will continue in the library of the Whalehead Club with a Holiday Piano Concert featuring the fabulous voices of the Currituck County High School Choral Ensemble singing holiday favorites. The second half of the concert you will be entertained by the amazing talents of a local pianist, Sally Copeland Wright. Listen to Mrs. Knight's custom-made Steinway Grand Piano positively come alive as classically-trained fingers dance across the 105 year old ivory keys. Tickets for the concert are $35 per person and include a dessert reception during the intermission.

December 29 - Winter Piano Concert
Monday - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Whalehead Club welcomes back the talent of Jason K. Evans, a local to the Outer Banks since 1988 and currently organist / hand bell director for the Outer Banks Presbyterian Church. Be mesmerized by the finesse with which Jason handles the century old Steinway Grand Piano, drawing out the melodies from the polished mahogany. Accompanying Jason will be vocalist Sondra Meinhardt and friends who will perform classics from the 1920's era as well as holiday favorites. Tickets are $35 per person or four for $100 and include a dessert reception during the intermission.

January 23 - The Whalehead Club Seminar Series with Jean Dunbar
Wednesday - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Respected design historian, Jean Dunbar will present an interesting seminar on Home Decoration & Design Principles with a reflection on Candace Thurber Wheeler, America's First Lady of home decorating. In 1879, the latter joined Louis Comfort Tiffany in a firm dedicated to interior decoration as a fine art and their influences were in play when the Knights built Corolla Island. The seminar will take place at the Whalehead Club with a luncheon served at noon.
February 20 - The
Currituck Heritage Park Seminar Series Wednesday - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join Site Manager, Meghan Agresto, for a rare chance to see inside the 1876 Lighthouse Keepers' Duplex. The seminar will take place at the Currituck Beach Lighthouse with a luncheon served at noon.
March 8 - Corolla Island Epicurean Evening at Dews Island
Saturday - 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. - $250 per ticket. Limited number of 40 tickets available. This intimate evening begins with transportation from the Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg to Dews Island for a view of hundreds of migrating waterfowl. A sight to see! Cocktails will be served inside the private working hunt club where guests will experience the rich ambience and sporting heritage of Currituck County. Preview rare and unique treasures to be sold at the end of the evening as a fundraiser for the preservation of the Whalehead Club. A traditional five-course hunt club dinner and wines to perfectly complement the 1920's delicacies will be served with today's flair by Kelly's Restaurant and Tavern.

April 3 - A Musical Evening at the Whalehead Club
Thursday - 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come and experience a musical evening in the Knight's Library reminiscent of those evenings long ago with singing and piano entertainment. The Christopher Wren Singers from the College of William and Mary will showcase their singing talent performing a variety of music spanning the 20th century. Sally Copeland Wright, a local Corova resident and ODU faculty member, will bring Mrs. Knight's 105 year old grand piano alive with a repertoire of classical favorites. Tickets are $20 per person and include dessert reception during intermission.

June 13 - Langley Winds Concert
Friday - 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Salute the men and women in our Armed Forces at a Free Concert. The Langley Winds woodwind quintet from the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band is performing on the North Lawn of Currituck Heritage Park. Bring a Beach Chair or Blanket and enjoy a program featuring American composer Samuel Barber's Summer Music, as well as works by Shostakovich and Rimsky-Korsakov. Parking is free. Pets on leash are welcome. Concessions will be available.

June 18 & 19 - The 7th Annual "Under the Oaks" Arts Festival
Wednesday - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy an annual outdoor art show on the grounds of Currituck Heritage Park with over 100 quality artists, musical entertainment, food concessions, and children's activities. Admission is free - parking donation requested. Proceeds from this festival support the Whalehead Preservation Trust.
